cos i filled my verse with metaphors, and loads of short punches within them...

either some people aint complex enough to understand it, or Im wrong in what a punchline is...

EG "He is a lion in a battle" - Metaphors are not humurous and are not necessarily complex.

Similie: Figure of speech comparing on thing to another.

EG "He is ferocious, like a lion in battle"

Wordplay: A figure of speech, in which alternate meanings of lexis/ sentences are used imply something other than the obvious meaning.

EG "Insult me? I watch as you Dissin the Great (Disintegrate) "

EG "I SHIT ON THIS PUSSY like GIRLS WHO WIPE TO THE FRONT." - this is using two meaning of the words "shit" and "pussy" and flippin them to mean something other than denoted meaning in a humourous way.

Punchlines don't have to be humerous. Imagine being in a club environment, they would be the lines that make the crowd go 'ooo' and 'aaah'. Think back to someone like Skillz in the '2002 Rap Up' track that he did, he drops lines such as:

'R Kelly got caught wilding, he sold more sex videos than he did albums'

'Christina Ag, she turned into a slut piece, for her album to sell she let out ALL of her buttcheeks'

'JD and Dre started dissing again, then they stopped when they realised nobody was listening'

'And designers made double, we gotta bury Burberry, we can't wear that no more, and jerseys are next on the list, you wearing throwbacks of players that don't even exist'

'I watched 3LW grow up and turn into Destiny's Child, and that was unexpected, them broads lost one member and couldn't sell one record'

They're just personal attacks, based on things such as their success, style, clothing, facial features, attire, attitude and education/lifestyle.

It doesnt HAVE to be humorous, but they generally have a greater affect when humor is involved.

My personal Philosophy...if the line would make me stop and say "DAMN!" if I heard someone else spit it..its probably a decent punch...
